Having friends to spend breaks during the school day with and have meals, gossip, play sports like soccer and basketball or simply ‘chilling’ during recess or the break between lessons is an understated pleasure. It is those activities that will become the most memorable as they are the some of the most enjoyable times in school. Having good friends to spend time with during breaks is far more engaging and exciting then just sitting alone using your phone and it really helps to perk up your day and keep you smiling.
3. Being nice and putting yourself out there
Be nice to the people around you! This is the most important factor when trying to make friends. Your classmates will respond in kind if you are sincere about wanting to be friends. Joining CCAs is also a good place to make friends with like-minded people who share a common hobby with you. Be proactive and responsive, do not be afraid to say ‘hi’ and strike up a conversation as the person you are talking to could be your future best friend. Spend time with them and be there for them when they need you, such as when they failed and examination and need someone to confide in.
